As the name suggests, this kill switch strap is too thick. I wrapped it in duct tape to get through until I order a replacement.

Addendum says it will fit all outboards including Tohatsu but the size does not fit my 9.8hp Nissan which should be the same as Nissan. It was 1-2mm smaller and I couldn't start the engine. I adjusted it but wrapped it in plastic tape to make it 1-2mm wider which worked. I also found that I could use a thick wrap of wire around the switch on the outboard in a pinch (which of course defeats the safety purpose of the shutoff key and lanyard), but at least I wouldn't be in a dilemma if I did have…
