A little gossip. in air compressors and blowers

I booked it for a 1200 mile dual sport ride and it failed at the first flat tire. The valve port on the end leaked quite a bit, but we managed on first use. Unfortunately, our trip was marred by apartments and the small compressor kept failing in the second apartment. same problem but this time it was terminal. I found another valve connector and now it works fine. I have a lot of experience with these small compressors in my line of work and none of them are totally reliable and the readings…

The good, the bad, and the ugly

Good: (1) This is one of the smallest compact pumps I can fit on my bike, wired battery connection!, (3) Shows pressure on an analog gauge (yes , old school = reliable!)!, (4) great price!, (5) suitcase holds everything, no origami (translation ; easy to pack)!, (6) it (at least) inflates your tire! The Bad: It's very noisy (as soon as I turned it on, I was magically transported onto the runway at JFK)! Ugly: Typical of these very small units, some compromises are to be expected—in this case…

Holds best in air compressors and blowers

I have to admit I was skeptical when I first bought this compressor, thinking it might be short lived given its small and light weight. But it lives a life of its own in my backpack when I'm biking off-road, and I use this compressor to inflate my tires all the time. He's holding up very well. *Update - I still have the same 2 compressors, the first I bought for my K1200LT, the second for my backpack which is used very often. I use it to ventilate up and down when going off-road to off-road (or

Barely acceptable for emergencies

I couldn't bring myself to inflate my bike's tires to the manufacturer's recommended pressure (6-8 pounds under). I removed the front wheel when the gauge read a little more than recommended (I was expecting a bleed). The rear tire didn't even come close to the recommended pressure before giving up. It wasn't hot like overheating and the bike was idling so there should have been enough power. In both cases, the actual tire reading did not even come close to matching the compressor reading. The…

Excellent design for its purpose with a small blemish

This small compressor is designed for emergency or intermittent air supply for motorcycle, bicycle, etc. The label included in the package clearly states that it cannot be used on car and truck tires. It is not intended for continuous operation or frequent use. Its purpose is to be there when you need it and hopefully you don't need it. If you use this often I doubt it will last long, but it's just an educated guess. I deflated my bike's front tire and it inflated it from completely flat to…
