Review on Black Stop & Go RCP Mini-Air Compressor by Joseph Harkins

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Barely acceptable for emergencies

I couldn't bring myself to inflate my bike's tires to the manufacturer's recommended pressure (6-8 pounds under). I removed the front wheel when the gauge read a little more than recommended (I was expecting a bleed). The rear tire didn't even come close to the recommended pressure before giving up. It wasn't hot like overheating and the bike was idling so there should have been enough power. In both cases, the actual tire reading did not even come close to matching the compressor reading. The cartridge is difficult to screw in and I am concerned that the threads may become twisted. For some reason it was very difficult to remove the cartridge from the front valve and I blew air trying to do it (probably one of the reasons why I didn't have enough of this tire). The back end is smoother. That being said, it's light and small, comes with a nice pouch, and fits right into my BMW's SAE pigtail, and the cable is long enough to reach both tires. Hopefully he can fix things and let me hobble to the gas station, which I really need him for. However, I wonder how many cases it will last. Unfortunately, my idea of using it as an additional compressor will not work.
