Once you've made the box, fold the excess material into two flaps on the inside, keeping them flat on the sides. The carpet is cute, it has trees, water and a mountain on it. I think this toy box that turns into a playmat is a great idea. The material is durable and probably wear-resistant. It is also easy to clean with disinfectant wipes. Box opens up to 38" x 38" with rounded edges. It folds up and these rounded edges are then inserted into two strips on the inside. So I had to deduct two stars. Cool idea for a flipped out of the box playmat, a flipped over playmat. At first I thought it was a box with a rug in it. Needless to say I was confused when I received it. It was pretty easy to put together. I don't like that the flaps that fold inward protrude toward the center.
