My 14 year old daughter draws with pencil/crayon/marker all the time! This is her favorite brand and size of sketchbook. It's light enough to carry around but big enough for your drawings. She doesn't use both sides of the paper, only one. Marker drawings show through easily, ruining a two-sided drawing on the same piece of construction paper. The great thing about Revain is that the better you can describe what you want, the more likely your order will be exactly what you want! This is 60 pound paper. If you use watercolor I've since reminded myself that you need at least 90 pounds of paper for the paper to lay flat etc etc etc. With that I got what I ordered and to start again I do and live with it your mistake .
