definitely worth the money!

My daughter ordered one for her college class and fell in love with it, now she has one for school and one for personal use, they are durable, thick and high quality

Pros
  • Beautiful
Cons
  • Neutral

Professional quality bound album

I like the quality of this book. The cover feels nice and soft, the binding is thick and professional quality, and I love toned paper as a regular pad in my arsenal. I would not recommend any medium "wetter" than an acrylic paint marker. I use Microns and Montana Paint Markers on this paper with no problems. After the work is completed, it will definitely be a good gift for someone.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Hard to say

Doesn't stay open to sketchbooks and notebooks

I really like the paper in this album, but the binding is very tight. He doesn't want to lie flat at all, which can be quite annoying. Trying to hold an open book while drawing sucks. I tried to teach him to stay open by just holding him wide open, but I didn't have to. :/ My other hardcover sketchbooks (Pentalic and Stillman & Birn Beta and Zeta) are left open-ended, so you'd think a big company like Strathmore would sort that out.

Pros
  • 100% recycled and 30% recycled fibers.
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Ideal for sketching

I bought this to match my tan. I love these toned pages when drawing with charcoal or hatching and then highlighting with white crayon or colored pencil. If I can just draw in a damn book now and not on plain paper, then I'm fine. I seem to have dozens of sketchbooks, but all my good drawings are on free paper. Which defeats the purpose haha. But this is a great book. A hardcover is worthwhile because the book will last for a long time thanks to the hard surface.

Pros
  • Midtones in the background help create a wider range of values from highlights to dark shadows.
Cons
  • Crumpled

Great Sketchbook!: Sketchbook

I love this sketchbook. Bought in early 2017 and almost completely filled. The toned paper is great. Most environments are fine. Even a little watercolor will do, if you add it in light strokes and wait for it to dry. A watercolor pencil is shown. The paper didn't warp because I used very little water. The paper will warp if you use a lot of water. This is not watercolor paper. Just remember. The alcohol markers will spread. I've used colored pencils, watercolor pencils, inks, alcohol markers…

Pros
  • Made in the USA
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
