Stratux GPYes 2 0 External Antenna Review

I ordered this and there was no Pigtail. I thought it was coincidence so I sent it back and ordered another one. There was also no pigtail needed to connect the GPYes card to the antenna. So don't buy this until it's solved!

Also works great indoors near a window. I assembled an ADS-B receiver with an aluminum case and the case completely blocked the internal antenna. An external antenna solved this problem and also gave me more options to mount the receiver and position the antenna so I could see the sky.

I have the original GPYes and can't connect the antenna anywhere (you need GPYes 2.0). I've waited a long time and now I can't return the antenna, nor do I need it. No big deal, just make sure you can use it before ordering. I'm giving five stars because I was happy with my Stratux and it's my own fault for not checking.

I added this external gpyes as an option to the internal one I installed on my homebuilt Stratux. My insides gave me a test in the 10 to 20+ meter range but not in sight. I'm sure I would have done better putting it under the canopy of a 172, but I haven't flown, just tested from the back seat. I added an external one and retested yesterday from the back seat and it's been getting 3-10 meters consistently. Now I have the ability to connect external gpyes quickly.
