I thought the ice was hard but the old blades are actually worn out and I don't know where to sharpen mine. If you look at the blade/edge profile on a new blade, I don't know if a knife sharpening service can reliably reproduce a factory edge. By the way, the ice is no longer solid.

I don't have this drill anymore but when I got it I changed the blades every two years because nobody where I live can sharpen drill blades properly. I've tried different sharpening services and they sharpen them but they mess up the angle and they don't cut ice anymore. So I changed the blades every two years and it worked much better.
