I saw this and thought it was the best idea, but it didn't look very solid in the picture. After searching for the same concept but in a different material and finding nothing, I went ahead and ordered this set. I'm so glad I did! The picture does not really correspond to the product. It's very strong! I have one vertical and the other horizontal. You are wonderful! Much nicer and more organized than a mug!

These are great organizers for a desk with limited space. I attached the individual organizers with small paper clips. The slanted pockets make it easy to access pens, scissors and other accessories. Each pocket holds: 6 fine markers, 8-10 pens depending on size, 3 or more scissors, a short ruler and the bottom slot is good for paperclips or loose change. For me it is more useful than a pencil cup.

I like that they help to keep my stationery close at hand. They feel solid, sit straight, and are made of nice, durable, thick plastic. What I don't like is that they don't actually connect or connect in any way. In addition, the lower compartment is shorter in depth than the other 3 compartments. I love that I can keep all my teacher's pens, markers and some paperclips in the bottom compartment. There are four separate pieces (two clear and two black) each with 3 shelves/holders for pens/pencils/markers and a bottom compartment for staples and/or small letter boxes. Ordered a set for my son as they were on his wish list. When they arrived I opened them up to see how big they were. They were smaller than I expected but they are really good. They are thin and therefore fit in any available space. Each tower is 8" tall, 3 1/2" deep and 1 3/4" wide. One of them holds more than my previous holder and takes up less desk space. Got this for our table and it arrived but immediately became awkward to use once you go to the bottom tier. The top three were good for pens, but if you have pens with these clips on the side, they'll quickly start to look unwieldy. This part is best suited for pens without side clips or large clunky click office pens. It's good for pencils, thin pens, markers. It was uncomfortable downstairs.
