It's good for reference

This gives you a pretty good idea of the direction. Good backup link. Yes, you can use it to navigate, and it's a lot better than guessing. It's small and fits nicely in a zipper, but there are many other ways to add it to your outfit. The loop is a cord that does not stretch.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Some bugs

Pulled thread

This is a zipper. And the rope broke from the compass when I put it on. Completely new! You need to be sure your compass is there when you need it. I bought 3 so I hope the rest works, they were Christmas gifts. 2 out of 3 times the string broke. Buy at your own risk!

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Good but not great

funny little compass.

I don't do REAL adventures where accuracy matters, but it's nice to have a bunch of keys with you when you're out in the park and don't want to pull out your phone to find your way Looking for. The two sets of directions seem unnecessarily confusing - I wish the display was a bit simpler.

Dual mode, won't come loose when new

*Takes getting used to different top and side view directions* while (days to weeks) adhesive (cord and compass body) withstands pull and tugs* lengthened 3 Zipped inches *may hit car when getting in/out *almost hit myself when compass was too high on jacket

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Newer model could have been chosen

Exactly the same problem, the laces broke

I don't trust EDC, the laces pulled out so easily and couldn't be fixed. I want to try to drill a hole in the plastic case but it seems difficult. It would be better if the string was stronger, or even better if the design included a hole in the body for users to easily replace a broken string.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Secret

Disappointment! on compasses

When my 7 year old grandson saw the 'built in' compass on his 2 1/2 year old brother's jacket, he wanted one for a Christmas present - one he could attach to your jacket. He was thrilled when he opened the gift! When I visited his house the following week, I noticed the compass on the kitchen table, the tape was no longer connected to the compass itself. What a disappointment with this product!

Pros
  • Nice thing
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Read instructions

This is a great little compass for those of us who need to make sure we're heading in the right direction. I wouldn't rely on it for hiking due to the size. It's better suited to an urban setting, let's say you've arrived at a major train station and need to exit through the west exits rather than the east exits. I like the direction of travel function. For my use, when attached to a backpack, the cable could be a bit longer.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Some issues

Exactly what I was looking for

I needed a small compass that zips up to navigate around town. This little gem is exactly what I was looking for. It is accurate (not for orientation) for my need for orientation in the city. There are two sensors, which confused me a bit at first. The smaller one is orientated NS at the top. The larger one shows you the direction you're going when you hold the compass in front of you (the two are completely opposite). After figuring it out, it turned out to be useful as it saves you a step in…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared
