Fully Compatible Ethernet Shield

I bought this shield to learn Arduino development. The book I used had a chapter on internet support and it required an ethernet shield. I picked this particular board simply based on the reviews that other users left. I was able to set up the board without any problems as described in the individual lessons of this chapter.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Slightly Crumpled

Great little standard ethernet board, very easy to use and set up.

Very good value for a standard Ethernet board with the W5100 chipset. It started with the standard libraries on the first try. Within minutes I had an Arduino web server up and running temperature and humidity statistics on the internet. Don't use the big little board.

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for support and durability
Cons
  • No auto management

Works great with computer components

I have an automation controller that uses MEGA. This Mega has an integrated web server that allows you to control and configure operating parameters. also uses an SD card I hooked this shield up to a new Mega with firmware and it booted right away. Build quality is great, no bad solder joints etc. No time was spent making the firmware compatible with the new 5500 Ethernet chipset due to some operational aspects of the controller code. This shield is very reasonably priced and uses the 5100…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Weight

No communication with 12V DC

I bought this and installed it on an Elegoo Mega 2560 duino. Worked well when powered by USB or a 9V DC wall outlet during development. When I put it in a production case powered by a stable 12V DC industrial power supply at exactly 12.0 volts, it couldn't communicate. The Duino worked and every other bit of code worked fine, the ethernet shield just couldn't communicate. Luckily there is an adjustment potentiometer in the power supply and it only works with the Duino. I dialed it up to 10.5…

Pros
  • Robust design
Cons
  • Some small things

Invalid registration number, no documents

There is clearly ZERO documentation with SunFounder. Do you think they even put the circuit on their website? No, they rather advertise their IoT cloud. And I bought two of these at once and a few months later another Mega 2560 from another source. In all devices, the 5.0V register was filled with a 3.3V chip! Luckily, Revain refunded my money with no fuss. For another dollar you can get an Elegoo device with proper paperwork, pins marked on the straps! etc. By the way, contacting the supplier…

Pros
  • This ethernet shield allows the Arduino board to be used to connect to the internet.
Cons
  • unreliable

Finally I could work with him.

I had this piece of rock because I couldn't get it to work properly. No connection to Arduino. The pins were too long to fit, the solder under the board touched the USB connector on the Arduino board. Until I've bought some Arduino connectors to form the second layer, I manage to work through the example sketches one at a time and repeat the tests. Before this HACK board, it wasn't very reliable. I'm still testing reliability as sometimes the board worked, sometimes not. Today is the first day…

Pros
  • Can be used as server or client.
Cons
  • Dear

A clone is only a problem if you let it.

When I bought this device I needed an Atmega microprocessor for a cool project. I looked at real Arduinos and half the posts complained about "fake", "cloned", or "Chinese" fake Arduinos. While I have no problem supporting an open source program by buying the original at a higher price, I have a serious problem paying that price for a product not made by them. I would rather buy a copy from a reputable company who will sell it as a copy at the price of the copy and then donate the difference to

Pros
  • connect board directly, no need soldering.
Cons
  • No Instructions
