Good low frequency meter

Fairly accurate and responsive. Considering that a 'good' counter costs 2-3 times as much, for the money it costs, this is a very good deal.

Excellent and Reliable Relative Humidity Meter

My piano tuner introduced me to this psychrometer (a kind of hygrometer). It's excellent and gives accurate readings. This is much better than hygrometers that work on other principles (e.g. a hair hygrometer).

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Functionality

Great Field Diagnostic Tool

We currently use it to calculate superheat for residential HVAC systems. It works great. Easy to read and very accurate. However, it appears to be fragile, so always keep it in its case. Please note that the backlit display is very high quality. It's bright, unlike the usual backlight found on a cheap LCD display.

  • Thermometer
Cons
  • Some small things

Totally useless

This psychrometer was very inaccurate right out of the box. The thermometer never read correctly, so the relative humidity reading is useless. Compare the constant readings from my Cooper pocket thermometer to the DSP1000 readings in my photo. The DSP1000 is off 15 degrees, and my pocket thermometer was tested to +/- 0.1 degrees Fahrenheit at 32 degrees Fahrenheit just a few days ago in an ice bath. Your product is junk. As a refrigeration mechanic, I would not recommend the DSP1000 to anyโ€ฆ

A good option for home or field analysis.

This psychrometer is very accurate as advertised. I've compared the DSP1000 to two other HVAC diagnostic tools I own and they are calibrated and accurate to within 1.5 degrees. The downside is the 9 volt battery, which only has a few milliamp hours (mAh) and is more expensive to replace than an AA battery. However, because it has a large, easy-to-read display and backlight, it requires a higher voltage, making the device compact. Please note that this device consumes electricity even when it is
