They are not large. That's what it says on the packaging. They are made in China. If you are 5 feet tall, they might look tall. If you are a 6 foot male then this is a medium at best. My hands are small and tense. The build quality is satisfactory, apart from the pointless cheek pads. After some research I bought this to combat the polar vortex -40 actual temperature. They work so well my hands could get sweaty shoveling snow. The pads on the back are pretty much useless as snow gets stuck in them quickly, but I wasn't planning on using them anyway. They don't fit over the sleeves of the parkas but I haven't had that problem at all and my larger than average arms fit well without being too tight. Overall, these gloves have more than proven themselves.
