Perfect Watercolor Paper for Arts and Crafts

I recently purchased Superise Sheets Painting Watercolor paper for a new art project and was beyond impressed with the quality of the paper. It worked perfectly for creating vivid watercolor art and the texture was ideal for holding the paint in place. Through trial and error, I found that this paper soaked up the water and pigment perfectly, leaving my final piece of art looking impressive. The only downside was the price point, but the quality is worth the investment. Overall, I would…

Pros
  • The texture is perfect for watercolor art and the paper soaked up water and pigment perfectly.
Cons
  • The price point may be a bit steep for some buyers.

Non-genuine watercolor paper

Definitely more for drawing with a pencil or something similar. This is good old paper. I would not recommend it for true watercolors. Not good quality. Disappointed but it's not expensive and we'll paint it again.

Pros
  • Uniform whiteness: two smooth and clean surfaces, well showing the color and plasticity of watercolor paints.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

NO watercolor paper

This is mainly colored paper, maybe a little thicker. It feels very soft and almost tender, as if tearing very easily. Even the cheap watercolor paper I have is thicker and heavier than this one. If I painted some liquid on it, it would soak it up like a sponge and ooze out. It's too thin to carry a liquid medium. I can see my hand through when I hold it. This doesn't happen with my other cheap watercolor paper. I bought it for my kids but I'm returning it because I'm sure even the markings…

Pros
  • Wide range of uses: Ideal for most wet and dry media, watercolors, pencils, ink, crayons, pastels, etc.
Cons
  • Discontinued
