Not the best choice for 50 amp

I would not recommend this 50 amp plug. Thin crimp contacts are not safe. I would look for something with solid contacts, like the Leviton 9650-P. I know its a bit pricey but as they say you get what you pay for.

Not very good quality components

NEMA 6-50R socket: Grips are a great idea but the contacts don't give a good crimp and the wire has to be cut in half to fit and it still doesn't fit provide a good crimping force. However, the connector is solidly constructed.
