Big! . but - butter dish

I bought this dish for two reasons: I like the yellow color and it claims to hold 2 packets of butter. The color and design of the plate are excellent. It makes a robust and well-made impression. BUT, if you have two 4-ounce sticks in a bowl, or a wide 8-ounce block (like Kerrygold), the curvature of the lid means it rests over the corners of the butter and doesn't close completely. Well I guess it would be if you let the butter soften to room temperature but then you'd end up with a mess on…

Pros
  • Top marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other sets

The best oiler

Actually this is the second one I bought. My husband accidentally broke off the bottom on the first one. We definitely wanted the same product. Obviously it's not indestructible, but it's worth being a little careful with. It's beautiful and functional. We use European oil bricks which fit but could take up a little more room. I simply cut the bricks in half and use 1/2 sticks on each. A whole stone fits in, but the lid can get dirty if you don't put it back on properly. I did a lot of research

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Crumpled

Take the right notes.

So what's up? A butter dish with a lid, how difficult can that be? It turns out there are ways for an oil tray to go bad and fail, and this one avoids those mistakes while still looking great! Three areas are essential for the perfection of an oiler: 1.) The good grip of the lid itself. This can be a handle or knob on the top that can also be gripped with wet or oily fingers, or a design on the sides like fish scales etc. 2.) The right size. We recently got one that doesn't have room for a wand

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Discontinued model
