Swivl Eze 2385400 Lakesport Adjustable Pedestal Review

Poor design. No matter how tight you tighten it, the seat will slowly sink back down. Last time I tightened it so tight it wouldn't come loose after lowering it back to the floor to reset it. I used pliers to unscrew the handle but it just ripped off the screw it was attached to. I finally freed myself by breaking all the attachments. I solved the whole problem by drilling a hole and inserting a pin where I wanted the seat to stay.

This podium is absolute junk. I thought Attwood made quality products, but the height adjustment on this seat relies on plastic and a cheap screw to hold it in place. The bolt and nut broke off and melted after first use. Makes it completely useless and impossible to remove. I had to use bolt cutters and grinders to loosen the bolt. Now I'll either have to call it a loss and buy a completely different one or see if I can find other "quality" parts to assemble to do the height adjustment again…

I bought this product to use with a marine (boat) chair that I have installed in my home. I needed a swivel chair to sit on the new sewing machine I just bought. I screwed the base to the floor in my upstairs bedroom. I need to get my chair to the right height at least a few times a week. This base broke in several places last night when I tried to raise the chair a few inches. I can't imagine this socket would last very long on water with salty air. I am very disappointed in this product…
