Tears at 10 Months - AVOID

Very disappointed. I bought this for my wife to use on our induction hob. The pan worked well for 10 months, and then she noticed the surface was peeling near the central heat indicator. We all have plastic utensils, and this pan has been washed. "No problem!" I told her that this pan is guaranteed. However, the warranty phone number will result in automatic replies and a denial of return authorization. The return instructions are to ship the item at your own expense and then hope for the best.

Pros
  • Best in Niche
Cons
  • Will be added later

This is a good frying pan - it's well made and the non-stick coating is excellent. BUT - for a 12.5" pan, only the middle 8" pan of the pan is induction compatible (holds a magnet). The flat bottom of the pot is 10 inches in diameter, so there is a rim of non-inductive material around the bottom. This means that the pan will NOT heat evenly on the induction cooktop - the center is MUCH hotter than the outside. And -- a real annoyance -- if you have a range that defines pans and pan sizes, you…

Forget the warranty

I gave this pan a star for its durability and warranty or no warranty. This is the second nonstick T-Fal pan, a 12.5 inch professional nonstick pan, that I have owned. I bought a second one because I liked the first one. I don't use metal utensils, I don't use a dishwasher, and I never use high heat. I use the pan on average eight times a month. I've had this pan for two years now. The pan appears to have developed a high center in about a year. Oil, eggs, everything goes into the pan. A pan…

So it's not like all those 'just received' product reviews

Firstly, I did NOT receive it for free, so this review was not affected by wanting to keep getting free stuff. Second, I bought the pan almost five years ago, so it's nothing like all those "just arrived" product reviews. Now here's what most of you want to know. How durable is the non-stick surface? First, remember that ALL non-stick surfaces will degrade over time, whether it's Teflon or ceramic. DO NOT believe in "limited lifetime warranties" that mean they will keep their non-stick surfaces

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Professional Chef Rating: 1 year of consistent use

This is an honest review from a professional chef who used this product almost every day in his home kitchen for a full year. I was not paid to write this review and I have not received any compensation for my efforts. First observations: I bought this pan on January 2, 2015 for home use. I never use small pans, so the 12.5" pan was an easy choice. . I was initially intrigued by the fact that the bottom of the pan was convex and doubted the pan would distribute oil/brown/frying oil evenly. The…
