Nice little unit. suitable for fish and aquatic animals

I have been using this moonlight in my 90 gallon aquarium for a few years now. It's reliable and puts out a decent amount of light for such a small device. While that's not enough for my 90's, I'm looking for more moonlight, preferably something I can clip to the back (outside) of my hood. LEDs have come a long way in the past few years, so there may be cheaper and better devices out there now.

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

It's incredibly decent.

I wasn't expecting much...actually, let me rephrase it: I use it in a 55 gallon tank. This light is designed for a 10-15 (or less) gallon tank. And that would be a great light. But it's too small for my use. But I was also too stingy to buy more lights. However, I had trouble getting it to work with a timer. On/Off is a button, not a switch. I'm pretty sure it will reset if it loses power. So it turns off but not on. Maybe I'm just incompetent. Great non-invasive light for watching my elusive…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Something different

Great for moonlight

I use this lantern over my 29 gallon aquarium in the evenings for "moonlight" time of about an hour or two until the lights go out completely overnight. I got it because my old lantern (nautical orbit) had a nice dark blue moonlight; but my new Kessil light doesn't produce a faint blue light (even with a spectral regulator). This little light is perfect for giving us and the fish the last part of the "sunset" before total darkness. It calms and gives the aquarium a unique color scheme. I love…
