🔧 Pair of Tailgate Trunk Lid Lift Support Gas Struts for BMW E39 525i 528i 530i 540i M5 1997-2003 Review

As a hesitant buyer researching automotive liftgate struts, I was disappointed in this solution. As my tests showed, the struts were not strong enough to support the weight of my tailgate, leading to dangerous situations when closing it. While the installation process was easy enough, the poor performance outweighs any convenience.

Works great! I've had it for about 3 months or so and it's still going! There was no sign of weakness. It was very easy to install. The only thing is that there are no clips in the kit, but you can find them in almost any hardware store. And depending on what state it's in, you might not even need it.

I put them on my 2003 BMW 540i with too much effort because they are about 1/4 inch too long. They are also too strong for the weight of the trunk lid. In general I find that the struts are starting to wear out and weaken a bit, but as of today I have to hold onto the trunk lid to keep it from flying off after halfway lifting by hand.
