Great but for special occasions

This lens isn't used often, but when the situation calls for it, you can take great photos in a small space. I can't imagine a Nikon lens doing better. My photos were clear with no distortion.

Pros
  • Trial for a year
Cons
  • Almost never

Pretty good lens for camera lenses

I am a real estate photographer and interior design requires an age of 11-18 years. I've been using the lens for about 2 years, I really like it. The main problem I have is color fringing along high contrast lines. The lens also suffers from a slight fisheye distortion in the 11-13 range, but this can easily be corrected in a digital photo lab. It has less distortion in the 14-18 range than my Nikkor 18-70 at 18. It's not the best choice for people photography. I think it's good value for…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • New competitors have emerged

Good, reliable, made in Japan, can be used on FX with 15mm focal length

The lens is very easy to use and should last forever. Mine is about 6 years old, has seen over 50,000 photos and works like new. Because it has a very simple autofocus mechanism, it will last as long as any other lens without an AF motor (the camera should have one). Used on D50, D70 and now D90. It is the lightest and most durable lens made in Japan. A NOTICE. There must be a focus pin on the camera body for autofocus. Samples will be uploaded shortly. This is a DX camera lens but can easily…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • boring packaging

OK, but there are better ones

I've had this lens for about 3 years now and ended up using it MUCH more than I thought I would. It's fun to play with and add visual interest, especially in all the little environments I seem to be in. The good thing about this lens is that it's a lot cheaper than buying a 14-24 2.8 Nikkor, but it certainly shows. The construction feels very "plastic" because it is, even though it makes it very light. However, it doesn't take much damage and certainly doesn't feel very durable - it looks like…
