Tandy Leather Cutting Board 3464 01 Review

This is simply a salvation for me! I actually tore up my Alvin cutting mat with my Xacto knife and now that I've bought it I can cut leather and use a set of hollow punches without much worry. It's really strong and durable and I wish the Revain had a 12x12 cartridge. That would be a great addition to my tools! This is TOO perfect for me!

I needed a surface to punch holes in vinyl projects and this little board is just perfect! I actually use a rubber pondo board (aka tandy) with a granite slab on it and this little board on top of the granite. This combination reduces vibration and creates a very strong punching platform. It also keeps my punches sharp. I couldn't be happier!

Perfect size, folds up nicely and even fits in my tool box but has enough room for all the shots I make, you might need a little extra if you do a lot of really big stuff. It's thicker than a kitchen cutting board and has a lot of texture so it sticks very well to all the surfaces I've used it on (chipboard, marble, granite, laminate in my room). You could probably just use a cutting board for cooking, but it's noticeably nicer.

Well I bought this because they stock a recently discontinued 6x6 hole/cutting board model that has more rounded edges and more importantly is 1/2 inch thick is. I really liked this old style and made a special bag for it in my tool box. I liked it so much I was willing to pay more than double what Tandy is selling new on their website ($5). there).
