Genuine Leathercraft Brass

Looks like real brass. Some of the other reviews only talk about the plating, but the powerful magnet doesn't attract either part. Definitely not plated steel. Fit and quality are good.

Excellent product.: Leathercraft

I was able to shorten my wallet strap by cutting it, punching a hole and attaching it with it. I love the easy process and the professional looking results. Good product. I wish I had thought of that before generously paying the tanner who shortened my purse straps for me.

Pros
  • Test for one year
Cons

Perfect for what I need.

I have a handmade belt where the buckle is attached to the belt with Chicago screws. One day I noticed that one of the two belts that came with it was missing. These screws were an exact replacement for the lost screw. I didn't use threadlock on the screw as I have a pack of ten. But you can because it is obvious that these types of leather fittings tend to loosen and fall off.

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Modern

High quality brass screws perfect for a shell project!

This is exactly what I need for my ax sheath project. Very good quality brass clasps used on leather scabbards. Making the scabbard out of brass was very important so that it would not dent or scratch the steel tip of the axe/axe. You will definitely want to use Loctite. Combined with a snap tool from General Tools and some brass buttons, I had everything I needed to finish the scabbard. Installation was very easy and they are perfect for crafts and other DIY activities. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • unreliable

Happy with it, good quantity and quality for the price. Note that 1/4" in the product description is the length of the thread, not the diameter of the head. The head is just over 3/8" (13/32). The grub screw is 1/4" long. The female threaded posts are 5/16" deep but have clear threads to the bottom so they can be sanded or filed if necessary. There are threads for their attachment. Luckily is the color not the one in the Revain photo for description I will upload another photo to show the…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Socket required

Graybar Fan Repair - Brass Rivet Attaching Bottom Plate

I was looking for a good way to replace the missing antique rivets on the fanbase. Initially I used clumsy modern brass nuts and acorn screws, but I've always been disappointed with the look of things. I ordered a couple of aluminum threaded bookbinder rivets from various suppliers hoping to get a good low profile rivet, but nothing worked (length was not easy to change/too long). These short rivets fit perfectly on my 1920s graybar fan. I had to put my hand on the fan parts to line up the…
