Just what I needed

I needed to find a way to photograph merchandise from above. I found a few videos with some pretty tricky setups, but then I discovered this side mount for an existing tripod. It was easy to use with my Canon 5D Mark III and Induro tripod. I didn't even need a counterweight. Great and cheap solution!

Skip and buy the one that expands.

It is about 12 inches long and does not stretch. When mounted on a tripod or stand, simply removing the tripod's legs and getting a good picture off the table isn't enough. Also, the clamp that holds the weights rotates and doesn't close, so it just flips it upside down and they fall off. To hold the DSLR it was designed for, it needs to be much longer as it won't work on a tabletop tripod.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Very expensive

Very versatile and well-made tripod!

I love everything about this tripod. Extremely versatile for shooting from any angle and from any height. Multiple built-in layers to ensure you're set up correctly. High build quality but in a lightweight package. All adjustment knobs are easy to grip (even with gloves) and turn easily. I use this with my Canon SLR with a 300mm lens and this tripod holds it like a champ. Rubber feet are durable and grip the floor surface well, preventing slipping. Looks great from all angles as I love the…

Nice sturdy/light tripod

I previously had a light tripod which I replaced with this one. From the packaging to the look and feel, I'm really impressed. It was very compact when folded and had a carrying case. It wasn't that heavy, but once installed, it became strong and held its place. The center column has a snap hook that we can use to hang our camera bag for added stability if needed. It was very easy to set up, attaching my camera. The 360 degree swivel ball housing was nice and very smooth for panoramic shots…

Great travel tripod

I am so glad I bought this tripod. At the end of last year I brought my first tripod with me. There was so much choice that it was unbearable and very stressful. So I decided to use a tripod with a video head. This is a great tripod, but not suitable for travel. Alone it weighs almost 9 pounds. So I was looking for another ball head tripod that fits in my camera bag very easily and especially in travel size. It fit the bill in many ways. This is a very strong tripod for such a light weight. It…

Great idea, poor execution

My Giottos MT7371 tripod already had the ability to rotate the center post to a horizontal position, but I couldn't adjust the height (other than adjusting the length of the legs). That's why I order one because the "jagged" pivot is stronger than a plain clip. The first problem was that my tripod had a 60mm mounting plate for the pan and tilt head. The Tairon has an elegant 42mm crown. The set screws on my mounting plate were outside the diameter of the Tarion tripod head. The solution was to…

Great extension lowered with a support hook

All in all a great kit that does what I need - raises the table top to bottom with my Z6. The extension itself is well built and I had no problem mounting it on a tripod or attaching my camera. feels strong All latches and controls are easy to use to adjust the angle or length of the arm, although limited by the length of the arm itself. There is one weak point, hence only 4 stars. It comes with a decent enough sandbag bag and carabiner and is designed to attach to a hook on the back of your…

Good medium duty tripod

This is a very handy tripod for photography and telescope use. I've used mine on both and have no complaints. The ball head is easy to use and works great with a heavy SLR camera. It's not as sleek as the high-end Manfrotto, but it's a mid-to-budget tripod. The tripod is heavy enough to provide a working platform for most of the short to medium length lenses I use. For a large-lens telephoto, you'll likely need something larger. I have lighter tripods that I use for hunting or hiking. These…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Unreliable

I haven't had this tripod in the wild yet but due to a sensitive feeling I think it's exactly what I was looking for. It has all the necessary settings, such as B. Independent tilting legs with detents and positive rotation detents, and allows you to shoot almost from the ground, solid construction and no rocking around town. I paired mine with an Acratech "Nomad" ball head that allows you to use a gimbal for my Canon 6D/150-600mm Sigma sport lens (smooth as a buttah). 190 go is also great for…
