This is a cute teapot and kettle combo. It has a nice wide base so the water only heats up quickly when brewed on medium heat as advertised. Thick glass creates a sense of strength and the wide handle doesn't heat up at all. The additional screen is well made with tiny perforations. Chrome-plated lid easily assembles and disassembles for easy cleaning. I am very happy that this kettle holds 40 ounces. I can brew up to five cups of tea at once. The first day I received it I put it on a gas stove with tap water almost full to the brim and when the water boiled I left the Pot stay on fire for about another 5 minutes for a more thorough cleaning. After that I checked the pot and there is no sign that it was ever on the stove fire. It looks as new as it did before the primer was ignited.
