crap and more crap ruined the whole projector which worked fine for about a month aside from the horrible toxic smell it gave off. Then the center of the screen. Started getting this nasty brown color that just got darker and darker. It's not easy to tell which is the real Optoma product, but it isn't. stay away

I bought this item to replace my GT700 and it didn't even last 2 weeks. I also got a huge black spot covering most of the screen as described in another review. I'm currently under warranty so we'll see how Dynamic Lamps handles this process, hopefully it lasts longer when I get a new one. What a problem! Spend the extra money and get a better lamp.

I've had this lamp for 30 days now and everything looks fine. I plugged it in even though my other lamp was fine, but got a message saying the lamp had expired. This only lasts with a 90-day guarantee. I bought this lamp a bit more expensive because it was one of the few promising OE parts. If it lasts, another will likely be sourced as this part is no longer available from Optoma.

This lamp melted my GT700 lens two days after installation. Now when I turn it on there is a big black spot no matter what lamp is used. Be careful with universal lamps. Also, the screws were misaligned, as was the stock bulb. There are other reviews here that mention the black stain, but it looks like they wrote their reviews before realizing the stain was permanent. My lamp was sold by a G-lamp seller. Never again.

Original OEM lamp lasted 4 years. The first replacement bulb we ordered lasted almost 2.5 years so we figured we'd get a similar cost but not that much. The second replacement worked for about 5 months, almost a day, and then died. This bulb has not been overused or abused. Used about 25-30 hours a month, about 150 hours in total. I really like this lamp as a replacement. With this new lamp, the colors are just as vivid. The lamp had a slight "hot" smell the first few times I used it and threw out a lot of extra light through the fan exhaust at the front of the projector. This appears to be an OEM part. The only difference between it and its replacement is that it takes a minute for the bulb to warm up to temperature and the colors to even out.
