I really like this lamp as a replacement. With this new lamp, the colors are just as vivid. The lamp had a slight "hot" smell the first few times I used it and threw out a lot of extra light through the fan exhaust at the front of the projector. The OEM lamp must have an additional cover on the sides of the lamp to prevent light leakage. Otherwise there is no noticeable difference between the floor lamp and this one. Great price and very well packaged. To get rid of the burning smell, I simply raise the Optoma GT projector to a higher elevation so that the fan runs constantly and not intermittently.
