Cast iron construction (30,000 PSI tensile strength) with replaceable serrated steel jaws holds work with a sure, nonslip grip. 120-degree swivel base with dual lock-down nuts positions workpiece where you need it. Three mounting holes anchor vise securely to workbench. Polished steel anvil offers a smooth, consistent work surface for shaping metal pieces. Acme-threaded screw glides smoothly without binding. Requires three 3/8-inch diameter bolts (not included) for mounting.

This is quite enough to solve some typical problems of Chinese production.

This is a reasonable vise for extended home use. A good solvent clean was required to remove the smelly preservative grease and until I did that it was hard to get past. The jig requires 3/8" mounting screws, but that's overkill, and the mounting holes have to be re-drilled to fit anyway (cast sprue reduces the holes to about 5/16"). I used 1/4" bolts with washers and would recommend that choice. They allow for some adjustment if your holes aren't perfectly spaced, and three of them are enoughโ€ฆ

Maybe it's because this is my first desk vise and I was looking for something that was both affordable and also strong enough to last over a month of light use. The reviews for this Tekton were raving and the price was spot on. After a shipping error that Revain quickly rectified (good job guys) I received a vise with multiple holes punched in both boxes. This is a heavy SOB and needs better packaging. However, it arrived undamaged and wrapped in light oil. The quality so far is excellent. Theโ€ฆ

Tecton wins again! best vise

Stamps because of the awards that came with their big names. And while I paid a little more, they generally lasted a long time and it wasn't a bad investment. until recent years, when new instruments seemed to break without much effort, and quality noticeably dropped to a new level. After that I started to spread out my purchases a bit and stumbled upon Tekton to find a few different tools. I bought some torque wrenches, spanners, crowbars and of course this vise, among other items. They haveโ€ฆ
