Sony A6300 specific review

Clearly this is a heavy duty cable that will probably work well with most cameras BUT. It doesn't work with my Sony A6300. The connection to my camera's USB port remains unreliable, although several methods have been used to eliminate possible stresses or forces that could destabilize or loosen the cable. I even bought my own jerk stop gear but found that didn't help either. My camera keeps going into mass storage mode and exiting before freezing. This problem is unique to this cable. The thing

does not work! pushed me, I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting to another port, restarting and shutting down my laptop but to no avail, check the photos. What's even more frustrating is that Sony doesn't sell original USB cables for their cameras on their website, so now I'm stuck with not updating my cameras' firmware. ** TetherPro USB works fine now in general ** but not for firmware updates. For the price: not worth it

Totally reliable, extremely durable

I have used this cable (I have 4 or 5 of these) for several years both in the studio and on set with my Sony A7rii and Sony A9. My oldest constantly used cable is probably three years old and the only fault I had was when someone on set tripped over the cable and it wasn't attached properly. This is where the cable fails, rather than yanking the connector out of the camera like you might have hoped. It always connects quickly to my MacBook Pro and I've probably taken 100-150,000 shots with no…

It's a USB cable but orange

Basically it's just a long USB cable. Usually the length of USB cables is not very good. Looks like Tether Tools accounted for the extra length as I haven't had any USB performance issues. (I suspect they used larger wires in the cable construction to account for the voltage drop, but I don't know for sure). The cable is ORANGE, not black. This is a good thing in a photo studio as you want to know where the cable is. This is no small matter. For most photographers, this cable connects one end…
