It absorbs enough liquid and keeps it at that temperature for a very long time. The infuser basket is also very practical as you can brew tea almost anywhere. This is the second one we have received, we came back for another one because my wife liked it so much. They are great for drinking tea on the go. The temperature gizmo is a bit useless and not very useful for many, but adds a bit of sparkle to a standard thermos. The container is small, about the size of a large coffee mug, so be careful. I like the strainer basket for easy brewing at work. We love them and use them every day.

The temporary reading above is a nice feature, but a bit useless and I probably won't be using it much. Well if it had a battery in it and could heat or hold the temperature. I poured water into the bottle after washing and let it dry and looked at the temperature the bottle showed. I took my temperature and drank water every few hours.
