Description of High-Quality Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Assembly for Chevy Cruze, Sonic, and Trax (2011-2019)

A car thermostat regulates the flow of coolant through the engine and is an incredibly important player in the operation of your vehicle’s engine. Once the engine is running and reaches a certain operating temperature, a sensor inside the thermostat will cause it to open, allowing coolant to flow to and from the radiator, decreasing the temperature so it can be recirculated through the engine again. This keeps your vehicle’s engine functioning at the optimum temperature. Thermostat housing acts as the coolant outlet, it is normally located on the engine block or cylinder head. Engine coolant is constantly flowing, it flows through ports located in the block and head; it travels through these two components, through the thermostat housing and into the radiator where the coolant is cooled. As the name implies, this engine component houses the thermostat which regulates the coolant flow. ThisThermostat Housing Fits For the Following Vehicles: 2016 Chevy Cruze Limited L4 110 1.8L (1796cc), 2010-2016 Chevy Cruze L4 110 1.8L (1796cc), 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 Chevy Sonic L4 110 1.8L (1796cc), 2012, 2016 Chevy Sonic L4 98 1.6L (1588cc), 2013-2017 Chevy Sonic L4 98 1.6L (1598cc), 2013-2019 Chevy Trax L4 110 1.8L (1796cc). Defective Thermostat: Don't Waste Money

Based on my experience, this thermostat was a huge disappointment. It failed to work after only a few months, causing my car to overheat. The only positive is that it was easy to install. However, having to replace it so soon was a huge inconvenience and not worth the money.

Pros
  • Easy replacement for broken or malfunctioning thermostats in specific Chevrolet models.
Cons
  • Only compatible with Chevrolet models from 2010 to 2018, limiting its use for owners of other car brands or older Chevrolet models.

The part was delivered with a bad seal

The seal was cracked and had to be disassembled to find it after installation. Incur more cost and time than just buying locally.

Pros
  • . The thermostat housing acts as the coolant outlet and is usually located on the cylinder block or cylinder head. The engine coolant is constantly flowing, it flows through the openings located in the block and in the head. it flows through these two components, through the thermostat housing and into the radiator where the coolant is cooled. As the name suggests, this engine component houses a thermostat that regulates coolant flow.
Cons
  • Repair

My car was definitely repaired

This item fixed my car and cleared my trouble codes. A little more about the process of exchange. You definitely need to have a new O-ring on hand to ensure a good seal. I had to go back and tighten the screws a bit as everything burned just fine.

Pros
  • The original assembly usually needs to be replaced due to the weak plastic construction. Our coolant thermostat housing assembly has been redesigned to eliminate cracks in the factory engineered small diameter tube and shallow seal groove to improve durability and resilience. It comes with thermostat housing, sensor, thermostat and gasket.
Cons
  • I won't say anything
