🚽 Thetford 12524 Aqua Magic IV Closet Bolt Package: Strong and Reliable Fixture Solution Review

We recently replaced the louvered gasket on our Thetford toilet and thought it would be a good idea to replace the toilet screws and gasket as we had them removed. The only thing I noticed is that our toilet has become a little "wavy" since we did it. I assume because it's new that just needs a bit of compression. I'd say we should tighten the bolts more, but they're only as tight as we see fit without over-tightening and breaking.

If you order the Tetford Tiolet it will come with this item so you don't have to buy it. I'm having a hard time sending it back as I don't have a return label printer. You can use existing bolts from an old thiolet and it will come with this product if you order a thiolet, but with shorter bolt lengths.

Okay, so it wasn't difficult. I couldn't get the old flange off the bottom so I rotated it 180 degrees to place good "ears" at 9 and 3 o'clock - where the broken ears were, then I installed this new gasket with new screws and voila ! The bottom of my camper no longer leaks!

I wish someone had a rubber gasket or other material to go with it. You have to change these every time you clean the toilet. Which is probably not very common for most people. I had to remove mine to replace the valve and gasket and then get back in the shower. I suggest lubricating the area around the hole with silicone grease so it slides smoothly into the toilet when installed.

When I install toilets in homes, I put a ring of wax on the floor and then install the toilet. Make sure these RV toilets are not installed as residential toilets as this is the case the other way around. Place this gasket on the bottom of the toilet, it will stay in place, then screw the toilet to the bottom. Tighten the screws just enough to keep the toilet from rocking, do not tighten any further.
