Leaks like a sieve - interior

leaking after less than 2 months. Must be very poor quality. looks like I'll just buy a new toilet next time (different brand). with many that i have changed, it would be cheaper to buy a new toilet. I guess I'm crazy if I expect a different result while doing the same thing.

Pros
  • build quality
Cons
  • I don't remember

Direct part

Direct part for an old holey one. The instructions are fine. The illustrations could be improved. They don't clearly show how the parts are put together. When disassembling the original part, pay special attention to how it is assembled. If you're not careful, you'll have an even bigger water plague and have to dismantle the toilet again.

Pros
  • Excellent price
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Doesn't fit Aqua-Magic Style II as I thought

We have an Aqua-Magic toilet and found it to be the correct part as described. This part should fit. It was leaking when we installed it. The rubber o-ring was too small so we had to use the original part to seal the leak. I hope it lasts. We could use the rest of the new parts. Just check if this part fits your toilet.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Zero

Absolutely perfect, fixed me no fuss no fuss! My toilet had a slow valve leak from sitting for too long. This kit completely solved the problem. Didn't think I'd need a bottom seal, but it came in handy because this valve is easier to repair on a workbench. CAN be done in the field but I recommend taking it off and placing it on a valve repair workbench. Much easier, less risk of tongues and hose nipples breaking.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Leaks, bowl overflow, dirt and water damage

Another terrible plastic design from Thetford. The Style Plus toilet has a 34100 valve that allows water to flow through the pit onto the floor. This Type II valve pumps water into the bowl until it overflows to the bottom as it doesn't shut off completely. It's a slow leak, but if you're not careful you'll end up with a mess on your hands. Lifting the rinse handle with your toe usually helps. I have had to replace this valve twice in the last three years. I'm sick of the Thetford toilets.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Easy. However, before assembling it, you need to understand how it works.

It's all about the tiny spring that keeps the rubber valve closed, preventing water from flowing when the pedal isn't being pressed. It wears out after a few years and needs to be replaced. It's pretty easy. Take a flashlight and make sure you can see the chart clearly. You might want to collect the old parts once you understand how the retaining ring keeps the water valve in place, or you might have a bit of an accident like I did, but it wasn't that bad and I cleaned it, came back in time…

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Faulty

Easy fix for stuck/leaking toilet Thetford Style II

I think my Thetford Style II toilet may be faulty as I have had to replace this valve 3 times in 4 years. But the replacement process only takes 5 minutes because I have a work station without dismantling the toilet myself. After replacing the valve assembly the toilet will work great for the next 10-11 months. Maybe one day I'll replace the toilet, but this is an inexpensive and easy fix. In May 2016 I finally replaced the Thetford Style II toilet. And my suspicion was correct, it must have…

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Fits
