Shame of Thorlo among men

These are horrible socks and the quality is nowhere near the typical Thorlos. I've been (and have been) wearing regular Thorlos hiking socks for over a decade and love the quality and fit. Nothing better. Of course I tried this model and they are terrible. They don't hold their shape, the fit is flimsy and borderline, the material is ugly after a single wash, and overall a poor quality product. Not even close to a regular product from this company. I am very disappointed with this model. Again,

You can't go wrong with this!

I have been a Thorlos customer for almost 20 years. I wear them summer and winter with my black uniform boots (public safety/first responders). They have super soft, durable padding on the bottom and breathable fabric to keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Goes great with my hiking shoes! My feet feel so much better after a long shift than anything else I've tried. My wife understood and carries them to work since she is on her feet all day as a teacher. My daughters often…

Stick with the LTH version

I don't really like these. It's not that they're particularly bad, I've just been using the LTH version for years and they're amazing. Compared to them, yes. Fits but is smaller than others. The material up to the calves is very thin. And the soft floors make your legs squirm. Again, they're not bad, just not nearly as good as the original Thorlos LTH. UPDATE 4/19, the tips of both socks near the toes came off, now they're trash. UPDATE: This started to wear out badly after a few hikes and is…

I need goalless!

These socks are perfect! I used to read water meters, and the city gave 10 pairs of such meters for free every year, and we needed them. We ran 10-15 miles every day so the socks took a lot of wear. In combination with good Asolo hiking shoes, they made my job easier. You are great in ALL the elements. I walked in heat, cold, rain, show and ice. In winter I doubled them up to keep my feet warm. Even when they get wet they seem to still protect your feet. I always kept a clean pair in my work…

It's annoying as hell

They fit as expected. I wear size 9 medium/regular shoes and they fit as expected. They are slightly thicker than Thorlo's hiking socks, so they fit snugly when wearing your shoes. This is to be expected as these socks are made for hiking and should therefore have more padding. These socks are made in the USA. I've bought socks from other manufacturers that were made abroad, and one thing these socks have in common is that no matter how many times they've been washed inside out, they always…

Decent and thick best socks

Big Thorlos have arrived and they fit well. I sent back the Mediums (6-8.5) because they were too tight on the legs; The large ones fit my height 9ft exactly so be careful. The oversized socks also feel short (measuring 11 inches from the bottom to the top of the sock) and the tight fit around the shin doesn't feel durable. The first time I wore my Brooks straight out of the box was on the coldest day of the year, mostly indoors but also while eating (cold, not wet!). Brooks sneakers are not…

For me with my feet the best socks all year round.

I've now bought eight pairs of Thorlo Hiker Large/Men's 9-12.5 socks [various colours] from March 2011 to October 2012 so I'm comfortable to make comments because I wear a pair every day. As a senior living in the northern high desert of rural Nevada, I average over three miles of trails and sand every day in trail shoes or Keen or Salomon hiking boots and a Thorlo Thorlon Hiker. Socks [I wear high ankle socks] which provide excellent cushioning and very good moisture control. For my use, I no…
