Thorlos Womens LTH Hiking Padded Review

These were my first Thorlos hiking socks. I've been wearing their running socks for years and really liked the extra arch support so I decided to try them for hiking and I've been very pleased.

Thorlos have been my husband's favorite socks for 30 years. He wore them every day with military boots. Lots of padding and they last a lot longer than other socks. Costs more but is worth the money in comfort and durability.

Update: After trying this item, I found to my surprise that the quality of the ball and heel is significantly worse than Thorlo, standard quality for a long time. The material, construction, integrity/strength of the rest of the sock is the same. *** I have worn Thorlos all my life. No other sock brand compares to them for durability, comfort and cushioning in most sports.

These fantastic socks are perfect for hiking in any temperature. I wore them while hiking Michigan through damp, green forests in 40 degree weather and they kept my feet warm and dry. Two weeks later I put them on while hiking muddy mountains in Kauai's 80 degree weather and my feet never got wet or sweaty. Perfect socks!

I have large feet for a woman, size 10 wide. I was so glad I could find thicker hiking socks in a larger size. The socks are big enough for my big feet and have a good thickness. I haven't worn, washed or dried them yet. Should the quality not be what I think in the future, I will correct this review.

I first came across Thorlo socks a few years ago while hiking in Banff, Canada. My legs were sore and cold, I felt unhappy and afraid I would have to give up hiking. I went to a sporting goods store in Lake Louise where one of the employees said he knew he could do better. He pulled out Thorlos and they felt incredible. After that I walked comfortably every day and still only run in Thorlo socks.

These are the most comfortable socks I own. The lining offers exceptional comfort and supports the arch of the foot. I ordered them along with others from two different manufacturers which were about half the price. Others were too tight around the ankles/shins. But they fit like a dream and are worth the price!. There is no comparison in terms of comfort, style, fit and quality. I ordered 2 pairs and will be ordering more. I hope I can find them in the winter version as I live in the north.

I was a bit concerned when ordering that they would be too warm for spring/summer hikes. But I didn't have to worry. They are also comfortable in warm weather. The company promises no bubbles or hot spots, and that claim is true. I've worn them with new hiking boots all weekend and no problems. These socks are comfortable and fit very well - a nice replacement for socks that bunch up or ride up in my shoes. I would recommend these socks and buy them again anytime.
