I tried it first before putting the gel on my 4 year old's thumb and it tasted very bad and bitter. We applied it before bed and it worked well. Our son doesn't put his finger in his mouth and he doesn't like it. I would recommend it to other parents looking for an all natural deterrent.

Didn't work for my child. She just turned five and sucking her thumbs is serious business. I've tried everything, figured why not try this. It's a very "fluffy" gel (low viscosity) so it doesn't spread very well and doesn't stay on easily. It wasn't bad for her either. Probably depends on your kid, but didn't work for mine

Great product! My kids never suck their thumbs but I have to be prepared in case the youngest do ;) I asked my 7 and 5 year olds to try the product and they both agreed it tasted so bitter that they have to rinse it out . mouth something sweet. My son is 2 years old and sucks his thumb. I tried ginger, bitter gourd and other things but it didn't work. After reading many reviews I decided to give it a try. When my son sucks his thumb he just wipes it off and keeps sucking. I tried to say it when he's asleep, but it doesn't bother him at all. I think the awful taste will go away if left in thumb for a long time. How I wish it tasted a little stronger and lasted longer in my finger.
