Didn't work for my child. She just turned five and sucking her thumbs is serious business. I've tried everything, figured why not try this. It's a very "fluffy" gel (low viscosity) so it doesn't spread very well and doesn't stay on easily. It wasn't bad for her either. Probably depends on your kid, but didn't work for mine
