This mono to stereo adapter cable is designed to split a mono signal from a 1/4" output into both channels (left and right channel) of a 3.5mm input, It could be used to connect a mixing console, guitar amp, bass, mono radio to a portable media player, cell phone, laptop, recording device, or similar device. This 1/4 mono to 3.5mm stereo cable only used as a mono (output) to stereo (input) connect, if it used as a stereo (output) to mono (input), this could burnout the stereo output stage of the device. The 3.5mm plug is a standard 3 pole (2 rings and a tip) connector, This won't work on a Smartphone that has a 4 Pole TRRS port. You may need a TRS to TRRS adapter. I'm new to the studio crap. I used regular guitar cables. I didn't know any better. White noise is now much quieter with new cables

Defective audio cable Article arrived

Like the other reviewer here, this article also arrived defective. The audio signal was intermittent, very muffled and had a lot of noise/interference. Tested my connection with a headphone, it's definitely a cable. Sent back immediately, I will try another brand.

Suitable for GarageBand and guitar

I use this cable with external USB sound card adapter: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016CU2PEU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 because my MacBook Air only has a headphone jack. The other options were a bit more expensive and I don't need anything fancy or heavy when I travel. Works perfectly! The cable appears to be quite rigid.

Excellent connection cable for audio and video accessories

I just bought this cable to send the output of a guitar pedal to a guitar practice amp. The cable was nicely packaged in a zipped storage bag and secured with a reusable velcro strap. The quality is very good and it works great to transfer the signal from a guitar or effects pedal to the input of mini stereo headphones. It's too early to talk about durability but it seems very well made. Good value for money.

We would like to power a mono guitar amp with stereo output from a mobile phone or music player via a 1/8" audio output jack. Does this cable work? NOT SURE, NO. Warning: The left and right channel wires (high voltage red and white wires) are shorted together on this cable at the center pin of the 1/4 inch connector tab.
