Versatile and durable straps

I use the straps for bike transport and skiing. I originally bought them because the straps are wider than voile ski straps and I thought they would be more versatile for my purposes, which turned out to be true. Wider shoulder straps are not as comfortable on a bike as there isn't much room on the bike. You just have to think more about where to tighten the straps. It would be nice if I had a set of straps of different lengths. I want to use the straps for everyday use but the 25" straps are…

The current product is significantly inferior to its original tapes

See image. Tells a story. After being very happy with the previous generation straps, I bought new ones (I damaged the buckle on one of my original straps by accidentally bumping into it). The new straps are very inferior in every way: they have an IMO low-buckle design, they're thinner in width, thinner in thickness, and the material is obviously inferior (less pliable). The 18 " strap snapped!

Great strap at first but broke after 5 uses. The strap was used to attach a lightweight carbon fiber mountain bike to my bike rack. I bought two of these, the other one is ok so far but I get nervous using it and it looks like it will break soon. I also bought two 9" versions and they seem fine.
