Deionization Changing Resin is Terrible

Based on my experience, this product is a complete waste of money. It did nothing to improve the quality of my aquarium water, and I ended up having to buy a different product. The only positive thing I can say is that it comes in a relatively large container. However, considering the price and lack of effectiveness, I would not recommend this product to anyone looking to improve their pet supplies for their fish or aquatic pets in general.

Pros
  • Efficiently removes dissolved solids and impurities from water
Cons
  • Requires adequate knowledge and experience to operate properly

I have a RODI device with a small DI canister on it (LiquaGen model). The original resin lasted about 50 gallons and showed 1-2 TDS on my gauge. I bought Aqualife mixed bed color change resin and got back about 50 gallons before reading 1-2 on my TDS meter. This product filled my canister three times, so I got a total of 150-200 gallons of water for just over $18. I bought this product to try a competitor and see if I can get 50+ gallons. At first I was amazed when I put in 20 gallons and NO…
