Excellent engine guard

I liked the ease of installation and the look on my 2018 V-strom 650. The powder coating had chipped in 3 small spots but it didn't matter too much. Getting to the two small screws is difficult, so consider how you are going to tighten them. The center bushing is loose and knocking. You have to secure it somehow. Overall this is very good engine protection, much better than the stock Suzuki.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Metallic noises on covers and panels

After a few thousand kilometers I started hearing a grinding noise from my bike. It was right, at around 5,000 rpm it sounded a bit like grinding. Terrible sound. I isolated it from the adapter tube on these bars. I secured it by pouring a ton of silicone down the tube where the knock was occurring. Seems to have been fixed. Another 1000 km or so and no noise. A little annoying, but other than that they look great.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive

Not bad in general, a few glitches

Firstly the bars match my 2019 so the description is not entirely accurate. During installation, the right panel was "tweaked" a bit, but I aligned it with a screwdriver and then installed normally. The left sidebar fit perfectly out of the box. The last bolt, a cross bolt connecting the two sides together, went into a flare nut that shifted when welded on. After struggling with it for 20 minutes, I flexed the brace a little and got it to straighten out. In short, typical B-quality from Givi…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Other

Great bars, a noisy problem.

Well I'm that dumbass you always hear about who buys a 650cc bike for the first time and drops it on the way home from the dealer. After dropping my bike again while going up the hill I decided it was time to install roll bars as I clearly cannot be trusted to hold my bike securely. They're easy to install, but I suggest using power strips with an Allen key. Of course, now that I have these roll bars, I'm not even close to dropping my bike again. as a connecting rod in the middle of the front…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • I'll text back
