Description of πŸ“‘ 8" TNP NA-701S High Gain Radio Antenna - SMA Female VHF/UHF (144/430Mhz) Compatibility for BaoFeng, Kenwood, Yaesu Two-Way Ham Radio Walkie Talkies

TNP antennas are individually tested to insure proper compatibility with your radio and frequencies! TNP Antennas are dependable, accurate, reliable and affordable. Avoid antennas that are not properly tested or tuned, which can cause high SWR and damage to your radio. TNP's are proven to be a reliable VHF/UHF antenna. Extend the Range of Your Communication - Most TNP antennas will increase your radio's gain by 2.15 dBi or more. The longer the antenna is the better the antenna is capable of boosting weak frequencies. Shorter antennas offer more portability and convenience, while longer antennas generally perform better. SMA Female Base Mounted - This series of TNP antenna's are SMA female meaning a perfect fit for many radios. I like this antenna

I like this antenna, I use my HT on the MURS and GMRS bands, on these frequencies it outperforms the standard antenna ten to one. BIG antenna!

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Poorly designed

MUCH BETTER THAN A STANDARD ANTENNA!

Longer range than stock antenna yet still portable. Not as good as longer antennas, but they don't get in the way outdoors. Good product for the price!

  • Enjoyable

No better, if not slightly worse than the factory NT antenna.

I got it to replace the antenna on my UV-82. After some tests, I found that the reception was significantly worse than when using the factory antenna. I checked the SWR meter, VHF was a little over 1:2 and UHF was a little over 1:3. The factory antenna worked approximately f/1.8 on VHF and f/2.3 on UHF but slightly shorter in length. 82, wasted my money.

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • some disadvantages

I was looking for an 8 inch antenna to match this type of radio. Most other NA-701's were too big for the base, this one fits perfectly, a little tight, but it fits without modifications. It replaced the stock V-85 antenna, which wasn't as flexible as this or other NA-701s. As for the SWR measurements, judging by the manufacturer. I can however meet all the repeaters that the V-85 did, good input as I've been told that the reception of various signals, both UHF and VHF, was the same or better…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Security

Very good. Many Thanks. fits accessory

I have an Ailunce HD1 which I think suffered from an awkward accidental relationship with its factory antenna. It was bad enough I thought the radio was just junk. For jokes and laughs, I had a Motorola UHF XPR6550 antenna with the same threads as the HD1, installed it and noticed an immediate improvement in UHF performance. So I threw away the factory antenna and since Motorola's antenna was only UHF I bought an 8" TNP antenna and installed it. to analog, and then to a DFW GMRS repeater about…
