Love these, they come sharp from the factory but you really need to smooth/level all your surfaces on the diamond sharpening plate and then re-sharpen to the desired angle. After I chiseled and sharpened mine, they cut through the jaws like softened butter to make notches with little effort. Buy these! the steel is extremely hard but not too brittle, that makes it perfect!

Forget reproductions of Stanley's beloved. Spent on making factory edges sharper, these chisels are by far the best value for money. No they are not Japanese style with a hollow center but they work very well. Best $30 I've spent on tools in a long time. I've had them for a few months now and haven't had to sharpen them at all (I use them with oak grooves and tenons a couple of times a week).

Bought these because I needed a good set of chisels without spending hundreds. I first came across them from a Wrangler star and for the price I should have tried them. First impressions are good, nice to have a good weight in hand. I flattened the back and sanded the bevel. They are very sharp and highly polished in a very short time, around 15 minutes per chisel.
