After trying this product, I can confidently say that these lumber crayons are a fantastic addition to any artist or carpenter's tool kit. The colors are bold and vibrant, making it easy to mark measurements or create designs on a variety of surfaces. Plus, the price point for the entire set is unbeatable. I didn't buy these from Revain but every few years I decide to try again because every hardware store has them and Irwin makes some pretty good stuff. Most recently, maybe 2 years ago. At best, they leave the faintest mark on wood, wet or dry. Useless on dry or wet tires to indicate leaks. Not suitable for marking on dry steel.
