Very light and comfortable, little cushioning.

I love the light weight, feel great, look great. Not suitable for running on hard surfaces such as sidewalks. Knees hurt afterwards. However, trail running/walking is fantastic.

Pros
  • Reliable brand with a solid reputation
Cons
  • Can be uncomfortable in everyday life

My new favorite shoes

For reference, I'm not a runner or a weightlifter. I love to be active and my job requires me to excel in all fitness categories and this shoe helps me to do that. Other than that, I usually train 6 days a week and always train strength and running at the same time. Run 20-50 miles per week depending on my goals for the year. I also ride Ultra for fun. I have stone feet and I always have trouble finding the right shoes. But usually I come at 10-10.5. For this model I ordered 10.5, ran and…

Pros
  • Laconic and stylish design
Cons
  • May cause blisters or discomfort during a pause period

Brought me sanity

The fit, feel and zero heel are amazing. Unfortunately after two weeks indoors the shoes started to fall apart. Beautiful design, terrible quality. Don't do it, you won't be happy.

Pros
  • Easy to clean
Cons
  • May not be suitable for overpronators

I think these are awesome

I was looking for a shoe that could be a trail/road hybrid shoe. I tried the Nike Wild Horse 5/Pegasus Trail/Terra Kiger 5 but they were too tight at the tip and/or had too much drop for my liking. The MT-3 fit great and I prefer a relatively small drop (think 3mm?). The ground is almost perfect - not too rough for the road, but enough traction/tread to handle rough terrain. I rode 70-100km, stay healthy. I'll probably try to buy them again when I'm ready.

Pros
  • trail run.
Cons
  • Color may not be to everyone's taste

But wanted to love them?

I would give an instant 5+ stars for the comfort and style/fit of these shoes. I spent some time researching shoes and wearing different brands to treat my plantar fasciitis and finally settled on the Topo brand. Shoes come off the sole ONLY after 5 months (no continuous use). Upper shoe completely withdrawn from sale. For how much you spend and a reputable name, I'm REALLY disappointed! I don't even run with them, I just do light walks and gymnastics, any suggestions?

Pros
  • Comfortable fit for extended wear
Cons
  • Can not be non-slip

A good brand, but quality control is weak?

I love Topo and have bought many pairs for my husband and sons but the lace strap which broke in a key area with less than 20 miles is very disappointing!

Pros
  • Hopefully the low rise will protect my ankles. The profile feels solid - durable.
Cons
  • May not be strong enough for frequent use

Revainrating 3 out of 5

just the shape of the foot, general discomfort.

very light weight, shape of the foot, good design, unusual synthetic material is a good point. but the tongue of the shoe is more tightened than the brand's shoe is not in the shape of the foot. The biggest disappointment was the collar on the heel. Heel collar too low. it doesn't support my ankle securely. topo bought my first. but i will try another top for better experience.

Pros
  • Excellent stability for better balance when driving
Cons
  • May not be suitable for those who need a lot of cushioning.

Very comfortable and light

These shoes feel great. Super light and comfortable, roomy and seems to push you forward like a trampoline. Well, maybe not so much, but for me it's a noticeable recovery. So far they make a pretty solid impression. If they continue to work this well I may have to buy another pair in the future if they still make them. They look great and I love the orange color.

Pros
  • Excellent arch support for added comfort
Cons
  • May not be suitable for those with high arches.

Love these runners good for me

I had never owned a pair of Topos before, but I wanted shoes with more toe room as my toes were getting cramped from ski boots and other tight shoes. Ever since I got these shoes, my toes have started to separate. I've used them for trail running, hiking and short runs. I love her.

Pros
  • Ideal for everyday use and also for skateboarding
Cons
  • May not be suitable for people with plantar fasciitis.

Don't get caught out in the wild with your shoes falling apart

Very disappointed. Only 30 miles on foot and the day before he was due to start the Pacific Trail he discovered the boot was beginning to break the day after returning the boot. I buy through Revain partly because of the return policy, I've bought a lot through Revain with few returns.

Pros
  • Made from sustainable and eco-friendly materials
Cons
  • May not be suitable for people with metatarsalgia

Too narrow and stiffer than all Altras

Too tight all over and on the toes no matter how they are marketed. Also, the upper is significantly stiffer than the Altras I've been riding for years (Superiors, Lone Peaks, Timps). Returned.

Pros
  • Excellent cushioning
Cons
  • May not be suitable for people with flat feet

The ultimate all-round hiking shoe

I bought these shoes to replace worn out hiking boots on a trip to Utah's Big Five National Parks. I wore them to work for a few days to break in (one day would have been enough). On the trip I took only the MT-3 and a pair of sandals, so the MT-3 should serve both on paved ground and on difficult hikes. It handled both of these tasks impeccably, as did the Topo Athletic's signature fit and ground feel (I increased the size by 0.5 as recommended on the Topo website). Traction on the MT-3 was…

Pros
  • Excellent customer service and support
Cons
  • May not provide adequate insulation for colder climates

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Hot, doesn't breathe or drip when wet but great grip.

A synthetic coating can increase their lifespan, but compromise breathability and drainage. Excellent grip, but real stone slab can be used. When you walk on rocky paths you will feel everything, good and bad.

Pros
  • Affordable price
Cons
  • May not be suitable for those who require a steel toe cap.

Made in the States!

Great grip for trail running and incredible overall comfort. I was surprised to learn that they are made in China after browsing the manufacturer's website.

Pros
  • Available in different sizes for every foot
Cons
  • May not be suitable for people who require additional ankle support.

I love these shoes in my opinion

third pair of Topo MT shoes I've bought. Good padding and comfort, goes well with my high arches and temples. I order 1/2 size larger than what I usually wear with other brands

Pros
  • Excellent traction for traction when skating
Cons
  • Fabric may not be breathable enough for hot climates.

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Bad quality control

Maybe I got a bad couple? Uppers started separating after 5 miles of walking. I had better luck with the older version of Topo MT-2s. So maybe just inconsistent quality control? Got a refund for them.

Pros
  • For a wide foot. Comfortable and doesn't look huge. Very happy with these athletic shoes. Would definitely buy again.
Cons
  • Lack of arch support

A useless replacement for Terraventure

I ordered the MT-3 as an economical successor to my Topo Terraventure 2 shoes, which I really liked, but have already ridden over 800 miles in them. The MT-3s just didn't fit, especially in the toe box, so I sent them back.

Pros
  • High customer ratings for quality and performance
Cons
  • May not be suitable for patients with Morton's neuroma.

The build quality and the materials make a solid impression. Compared to the Altra Lone Peak, the forefoot is narrower. Also, the heel cup feels low and flat and the heel slides off. The Altra Lone Peak 12.5 is the same size as the MT-3 which is a size 13. Overall a tight and narrow shoe towards the forefoot and loose in the heel. This shoe doesn't fit me.

Pros
  • Ideal for all types of skateboarding including stunt and park riding.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for those with knee or hip pain

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good shoes in my opinion

Topo's was recommended to me a few years ago because of my back problems. The only problem is if they are not well built. They tend to crack and fall apart within six months of use. However, they are very helpful for back problems.

Pros
  • Breathable materials keep feet cool
Cons
  • Due to the light color, frequent cleaning may be required

Shoes felt good but a bit short. I went to the Topo website, they advised me to order half a size up for this model. So I returned it and ordered a new one without any problems. The size may vary I think

Pros
  • Easy to find replacement and repair for worn pairs
Cons
  • May not be suitable for those with Achilles tendonitis
