4 out of 6 workers.

So 4 out of 6 tubes worked which is pretty bad statistically. I had a larger build and this was one of the final steps. This of course delayed the project considerably. There should be more careful quality control of these lamps. The ones that worked are ok I think for the price paid but overall they're pretty low quality.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Ideal solution for low ceilings in the basement

Ideal solution for low ceilings in the basement. Used these in my false ceiling and they fit perfectly. I only have 4 inches of ground clearance and it was impossible to use can lights and we really wanted built in lighting. The Home Depot guy said this was the future, and can lamps were probably fading. Super bright. In fact I installed a dimmer because they can be too bright.

Pros
  • Ideal solution for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Some small things

They are very easy to install but they don't tarnish too much.

Installing these lights was easy. It's really nice not having to fit a bulky hull and tanks between the beams, especially when they're crammed with insulation. The LED built into the lamp is also positive. The only downside is that even at the lowest Lutron dimmer setting, these lights don't get as dim as a traditional LED light. Typically, setting the switch to minimum dimming will result in the lamp not even emitting light. These Torchstars are still relatively bright at the lowest dimmer…

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Little repairability

Great lights for impossible places.

I like the slim design that allows light to wrap around the beam when needed - that's why I ended up buying them. I had simple places that couldn't be manipulated one way or another. I've had all kinds of beam impediments and it has worked for all of them. Clips are strong. My only issue is that I wish they were with push in connectors and not the twist on style as the braided wire was a bit difficult to get into my push in connectors. You will also need your own NM terminals for the included…

A block smoldered.

Update 7/8/20 I missed the small card that was in the box with the unit that had customer service information on it so I contacted them and they responded quickly. They're sending me a new J-Box, not exactly a new box, so hopefully it works fine. Today I installed these lamps, and immediately after turning them on, one of the six indicators began to flicker, and then went out completely. Luckily they were installed in a false ceiling so I could look up at the ceiling and see the smoke coming…

OMG - Easiest install, fantastic product!

This is AWESOME! They're as thick as drywall, so cut a hole and stick it in. It doesn't matter if 2x4s get in the way of cutting the hole - they still fit! Basically, if you can run a wire across the ceiling, this is your best bet for adding can lighting to your space. Knockout through which you stretch the Romex. This is EXCLUDED. I prefer the plastic ones, so if you need one, search "Push-in NM Cable Connector 1/2 inch". (I still give the product 5 stars) I ran into a problem: I cut a hole in

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Fits

Easy installation and great performance

They were used for a new installation on my kitchen remodel and are used as work lights over countertops. So far we are very happy with the finished look and performance. I used these instead of the typical hi-hat lighting and here are the pros and cons in my opinion: Pros: - Easy to install. Just use a 4.25 hole saw and cut through the drywall. Even if you are on a ceiling joist, the built-in electrical box is small enough to fit through the hole from below and the luminaire profile still fits

Pros
  • Stepless Dimming: This sleek, redesigned recessed ceiling light offers stepless dimming from 5% to 100% with no flickering or buzzing. Suitable for a variety of scenarios such as doorways, kitchens, hallways, washrooms, basements etc.
Cons
  • Very Expensive

BREAK! Read this before you buy. This can also affect you.

I bought and installed these lights 11 months ago. I liked them and had no problems with them even with the "right" electronic dimmer. Everything is fine, no problem. But recently I bought some smart bulbs and an echo dot that plugs into a separate switch. Now when I turn on the smart bulbs randomly those bulbs start going out all the time until I turn off the smart bulbs then those bulbs go back to normal. I called TorchStar Tech Support to discuss this issue and was hoping for a solution to…

Pros

Cons
  • Some errors
