Description of BGM100 Bench Grinder Sharpening by Tormek
Allows you to use your bench grinder for shaping with the Tormek sharpening system. Allows you to use Tormek jigs with your bench grinder. With or without Tormek machine you can still benefit from the precise Tormek jig system on your bench grinder and easily get the desired shape and edge angle. Includes height adjustable block and hardware for easy mounting to your bench. The principle for setting the shape and edge angle is the same regardless of which machine you use.
Using the TOR-SE77 square edge tool holder immediately increased the accuracy and speed of my tool finishing. I needed a faster way to rough grind rotary tools and planer knives. I have a 10" Grizzly wet grinder and some Tormek attachments that work well with standard O1 blades, but I don't like A2 or HSS blades. When I want to change the bevel angle, it takes forever. The leather strap performs well with woodturning tools, but it takes time to get some serious finishing and bevelling. I am a wood turner and have had Tormek for many years. It puts a sharp edge on almost anything, but I've always had one complaint: It's very, very slow when first machining (or forming) a heavy turning tool. I also had a dry sander, but I was never able to "freehand" cut the edge close enough to not require a lot of rework (and time) when I got to Tormek. Introduce BGM-100.
