I didn't like that the back leg is resting on my painting when the stand is fully open. I had my husband sand it down so it was flat with the rest and then it was perfect. Update: I just used it vertically on my 16x20 painting and it wasn't big enough to not pierce my back.

I taught an acrylic painting class to students in grades 4-6 for a week. These easels were perfect. They were very affordable which was very important for the organization I worked with. The only downside was that they became a bit unstable when using a larger screen. We used 11x14 canvas and when the brush strokes got a little wild they would tip over or wrinkle. None of the advice was disastrous, and the lesson was a success. I'm sure they will find many more uses in the future.

These simple but sturdy stands are perfect for displaying art, storing a recipe or my iPad in the kitchen, paperwork while typing, and maybe other uses I'll discover got to. :-) They are well made and the rope holding the back leg when opening can easily be tied at any point to make the angle more vertical if needed. I wanted a simple easel that wouldn't break, and here it is! Since it's a tree, you can also paint it any color you like. When folded, it is flat, making it easy to store. Ideal!
