🎋 Natural Two Tone 14" x 11.5" Bamboo Serving & Cutting Board - Totally Bamboo Kauai Review

The board is rough, riddled with splinters and snags. I poured water on it and the pieces started falling off. This thing goes straight back to Revane. I've had the exact style board for years. The new model costs twice as much and the quality is the worst.

I was so excited to get this cutting board. Unfortunately, it has a lot of splinters that look like pieces of a board. I can't put food on it and use it. I read another review on this issue but thought it might be an isolated incident and just a bug but it seems they have no quality control. We are now starting the return process. Bought another bamboo board and hope this one is better.

This cutting board is what you need. The compact, stable material is easy to care for, hard-wearing and dries quickly. I'm not sure what else you could ask for. It's fairly compact, so if you're looking for a large cutting board, this size isn't for you. I can usually easily chop a whole onion, potato and garlic on the surface without taking up more space (to measure size).

A few notes. The board immediately had a strange smell that can be like a new tree, but that's understandable, but the smell didn't go away after washing. What makes me want to return this item is that there are still small thin wood hairs on the wood itself (looks like small splinters) as if they weren't sanded properly. Basically anything that was wet and could be touched had splinters of wood. Needless to say, I've already started the return process without even using it once.

December 20, 2013 - bought this board. The board was used for about 4 months then I started noticing mold on the sides. Living in warm, humid weather doesn't help, but one of the reasons I bought bamboo was for its antimicrobial properties. August 2014 - I've started noticing cracks in the board (see 1st photo). I have a similar bamboo chopping board that I have used for years. That's great! I bought this for my daughter as she said she needs a good cutting board. This one looks exactly like the one I have and is exactly the same size. So I figured it would be the same. Unfortunately it isn't. It is much lighter and the surface appears more porous. I bought this bamboo cutting board to replace an old one that has served me well for a long time. This cutting board is very (very) light. My older one was a little thicker, but I can't believe they would be the same weight even if they were the same thickness.
