Protection for your racquet

After a few years the original protective strip on the top of the racquet has worn off and this tape has become the perfect protection.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Only available in black

Not very strong glue.

I used to use Gorilla Tape on my racquets and I have decided to use the right tape for the right job. nope This tape keeps peeing. I followed the instructions exactly. Just not a good product. Back to the gorilla tape.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons

Protects eyelets very effectively!

As a longtime racquetball player, I've broken many sets of pads and multiple racquets trying to hit a wall. While this won't prevent the racquet from cracking, it will definitely dampen some of the vibration and will certainly extend the life of your grommets.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Poor performance

Not sticky enough - other reviewers are right

I don't know if this company is related to the company that makes Tourna Grip or not. But Tourna Grip is a great product that has been around for years. Used by Sampras. This product does not stick well. Unless I've received a package that's been lying around forever. Try another company.

1 inch width is not enough for adult tennis racquets

Good quality tape with reinforced webbing for durability. A width of 1 inch is not enough even for normal sized racquets. If you have a wide bodied racquet, look for a wider band - they sell 1.25" wide bands. Either buy a wider band or use that band twice - once for each half.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about it, everything is fine

Good price from a trusted brand

I have used gamma protection tape before but it wasn't wide enough. I usually split the tape in half to cover each half of the clubhead. This keeps the string holes open so the racquet can be tightened without removing the band. This Tourna protection time is a bit wider which is perfect for it.

Doesn't fit club head curves

I may have just received a bad batch because of all the rave reviews, but the tape I received is too stiff and doesn't fit the club body. It doesn't stick well and leaves creases on the edges because it doesn't flex or stick to the frame. I used to use Clipper and Babolat; Both worked really well so I'll just order something else.

Pros
  • Club grips
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Perfect for added headgear protection

Invaluable for protecting the top of a tennis racquet when digging/taping the ground like my son did. Ran with my Babolat racquet where the strings kept snapping due to scratches on the top edge (and on a standard helmet the strings weren't recessed enough). So the helmet is now covered with a layer of tape after each tightening and since then there have been no more problems. Holds well, doesn't fly away until racquet is tightened.

Pros
  • Sport
Cons
  • Working speed
